Our menu is pure, traditional, and elegant in its simplicity.

If this is your first taste of Nepal, you can expect light and mild cuisine that highlights the subtle flavours of Asia. Your meal is especially prepared by our Nepalese born Owner, Chef Hom. Chef Hom’s cuisine is honest, minimalist, and composed of refined ingredients and tantalising combinations that will delight your tastebuds.

We cater for guests who prefer vegetarian and gluten free dishes, and of course we also have a wonderful selection of traditional meat dishes – our delicious Goat Curry is a tasty treat all on its own! Better still, our menu is reasonably priced so everyone can enjoy Chef Hom’s offerings and experience the true Nepal from afar.

You will find our atmosphere to be a gentle fusion of warmth, light-heartedness and joy. Our ambient establishment is on the ground floor of the Gemini Resort, Golden Beach. This idealic setting overlooks the sparkling waters of Pumicestone Passage and is highly sought after for wedding ceremonies, many of whom celebrate with us afterwards for a delicious Nepalese banquet reception, impressively lit with fairy lights and candles.

A sensory culinary experience will entice guests of all ages.

Whilst dining, guests will be uplifted by the gently pulsing background rhythms and joyful music of the Himalayan people. The regal colours of the Nepalese Kingdom aromas of rich, warm spices, and the sight of twinkling candle light dancing on the walls will have you feeling like you’ve transported to the foothills of the Himalaya. Original hand-painted artwork depicts scenes from traditional Nepali culture which we are also proud to share with you.

A dining experience at Gurkali is perfect for romantic special evenings through to fun, festive occasions with friends. Group bookings and children are very welcome. We also have regular special events that we invite you to attend with us. Our monthly ‘Mo: Mo’ Night ($20 all you can eat Nepalese dumplings) is very popular amongst Sunshine Coast locals and visitors alike!
